Taproot Cellars is a Chef lead venture just five miles from downtown Traverse City. Chef and lead cider maker, Andrew Viren is curating a boutique and artisanal cidery partnered with Taproot Farmstead. The cidery is thoughtfully designed for intimate experiences, small batch authentic ciders, and a place to feel connected to our region.
Chef Andrew is a lover of food. He focuses on creating flavors that are true to the farmer, food that is fresh and light and pleasant to eat. Food is of course the substance of life it brings friends and family together and should be enjoyed. Originally from Chicago his career has brought him many places, including private cheffing in England, France & Croatia. Chef Andy has now planted his roots with Taproot Cider House owner Jennifer Viren and their new boutique winery, market, bakery and farm at Taproot Farmstead. He is so excited to combine global flavors with the bounty of Northern Michigan
